NTM-net survey on M. abscessus treatment strategies

Treatment of Mycobacterium abscessus disease is highly complex. For this highly drug-resistant mycobacterium very few active antibiotics exist and those few drugs are highly toxic and not universally available or affordable.

These factors, combined with individual experiences and preferences, impact on the selection of antibiotics for the first -or intensive-  phase of antibiotic treatment.

To study these preferences, we invite you to participate in an NTM-net survey study.

Our request to you: participate in a 7-minute survey of case-based treatment decisions

Target group: physicians with experience treating M. abscessus disease (no limits on amount of experience)

We hope you will join the survey so we can better understand differences in treatment approaches.

The survey is accessed through this link:

Thank you so much for your willingness to join the survey and your support for NTM-net!

If you find a flaw in the survey, want to voice an opinion on the matter that can help the study or be part of the manuscript writing team, please reach out to: jakko.vaningen@radboudumc.nl

Save the Date: EACCTB 2025

The EACCTB is an annual course organized by TBnet, KNCV, FILHA and the Karolinska Institute. The course offers a comprehensive update of the clinical management of tuberculosis as well as cutting-edge science. Topics covered include updates on the epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in adults and children, hot topics like tuberculosis & migration or Antibiotic Stewardship and on-stage interactive case presentations.
